2014 Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape
We are very pleased to offer cases of the 2014 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a beautiful expression of Grenache from one of the Rhône Valley’s most iconic and sought-after estates. Awarded 97 points by Vinous, this is a vintage that showcases the magic that is Rayas and is elegant, transparent, and deeply evocative.
While 2014 was a modest year overall in the Southern Rhône, Rayas, as it so often does, rose above. Nicolas Greinacher of Vinous, tasting it in 2023, called it “a jewel of a wine”, praising its “drop-dead-gorgeous silky tannins” and “divine mouthfeel”. Now at 12 years of age, the wine is entering a glorious drinking window, offering both immediate pleasure and the promise of long-term evolution.
With its ethereal texture, lifted aromatics, and singular finesse, this is Rayas at its most alluring.

The 2014 Château Rayas is a jewel of a wine. Mingling fragrant aromas of orange blossom, crushed rose petals, forest strawberry, raspberry jam, white pepper, dried lavender, melted licorice and verbena tea. It is deeply moving and hauntingly elegant as it expands vertically on the palate. The silky tannins are drop-dead-gorgeous and contribute to a divine mouthfeel that concludes with a complex finish.
