Dear << Test First Name >>,
Vinum has followed La Ca’ Nova for several year now and with each release we puzzle over how such quality can be had for such modest prices. Marco Rocca crafts Barbaresco of purity, classicism and finesse yet sells at prices that would make most of his neighbours blush.
Seriously, if La Ca’ Nova was in Chambolle Musigny, buyers would be queuing up to pay four times these prices.
We visited Marco in late February and loved what we found. 2021 is an exceptional year for Barbaresco that is expressive, supple, perfumed and elegant: everything we look for from the region. With the highest Galloni score, Montestefano is sure to grab the headlines but it is almost impossible to go wrong here!
- The straight Barbaresco normale is a screaming bargain with 94/100 – it will drink well right out of the gates yet we’d have no qualms putting it away for a decade.
- With a massive 97/100 AG the Montefico is hardly any slouch and leaves many a more expensive wine red in the face.
People often ask how well these wines age, perhaps concerned by their modest price points. The answer is, extremely well! We tasted a very youthful 2012 with Marco and previously had a glorious 2006 that was still riding high on its drinking plateau.
With the kudos of a great vintage, combined with some eye-watering Galloni scores, matched to a quality:price ratio almost unparalleled in the world of fine wine, our allocation is sure to sell fast. Please act quickly to secure your order and note that purchases of Montestefano are limited to 2×6 (12 bottles) per client.
Very best wishes,
