Neal Martin 95
The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanee 1er Cru is backward and a bit reduced on the nose, with scents of orange rind and just a hint of bacon fat emanating from the reduction. The palate is well balanced with pineapple and mandarin, pithy with plenty of extract, although it does not quite have the precision and mineralite of the best Chassagne-Montrachet wines from this vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
