The 2024 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a blend of Charmes, Feusselottes, Chatelot and Fuees. Matured in 60% new oak, this has a slightly low-key nose that demands some encouragement, just missing the same vigour as some of the Domaine cuvees at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with pretty dark berry fruit, touches of brown spices and a very harmonious, controlled finish that is silky smooth. This should present a decade’s drinking pleasure. Do not underestimate this cuvee, especially as this is a blend of serious vineyards. Just five barrels.
