Today, we’re delighted to present PART 1, featuring exquisite right bank wines from renowned estates in Pomerol and St Emilion, showcasing the outstanding vintages of 2009, 2010, and 2012.

Mouthwatering notes from the critics as you can see below with all amazing notes with many 100 pointers such as:

2009 Chateau Angelus

5 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 6,600/ case (inc GST $7,128)

“Along with the 2005, the 2009 is the greatest Angelus I’ve tasted and is a perfect wine in every way. Based on 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc raised in (I believe) 100% new oak, its still youthful ruby/purple color is followed by an incredible perfume of crème de cassis and blueberry fruits as well as notes of white chocolate, Asian spices, flowery incense, and a hint of white truffle. Full-bodied and powerful, it still stays weightless and elegant on the palate, and as all truly great wines do, it offers an amazing amount of both hedonistic and intellectual pleasure. It has a wealth of tannins, incredible depth of fruit, and a finish that won’t quit. Drink this magical, heavenly 2009 any time over the coming 20-30 years or more.”

2010 Chateau Angelus

5 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 6,180/ case (inc GST $6,674.40)

“The deep garnet colored 2010 Angélus is an atomic bomb of powerful fruit scents from the moment the cork is pulled! Boysenberries, stewed plums, blackcurrant cordial and black raspberries all burst from the glass, followed up by nuances of tar, star anise, mocha and unsmoked cigars plus a waft of camphor. The big, rich, full-bodied palate is built like a brick house, featuring super firm, ripe, grainy tannins and tons of freshness to support the taut, muscular black fruits, finishing very long and savory. It’s starting to enter its drinking window, but based on this tasting, I would recommend waiting another 3-5 years before broaching and then drinking it over the next 40+ years.”

2009 Chateau Clinet

5 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 4,500/ case (inc GST $4,860)

“Clinet has been on a hot streak lately and the 2009 appears to be the greatest wine ever made at the estate, surpassing even the late Jean-Michel Arcaute’s monumental 1989. A blend of 85% Merlot and tiny amounts of Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), this big Pomerol boasts an opaque, moonless night inky/blue/purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of blueberry pie, incense, truffles, black raspberries, licorice and wood smoke. Viscous and multi-dimensional with silky, sweet tannin, massive fruit concentration and full-bodied power, there are nearly 4,000 cases of this thick, juicy, perfect Clinet. It should drink well in 3-5 years and keep for 25-30.”

2009 Chateau l’Evangile

5 cases (x6) @ SGD$ 3,150/ case (inc GST $3,402)

“An astonishing effort from the Rothschild family, the 2009 l’Evangile may be the reference point offering from this estate for decades to come. A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new oak, with 15% natural alcohol, it exhibits a sumptuous bouquet of caramels, black raspberry liqueur, blackberries, violets, graphite and truffles. Thick, viscous flavors are reminiscent of such super-ripe vintages as 1982, 1959, 1949 and 1947. The striking aromatics, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel and multilayered palate that resembles a skyscraper in the mouth offer an abject lesson in great winemaking, extraordinary terroir, and the ability to combine power with precision, elegance and freshness. This is unquestionably a huge wine, but it also possesses mindboggling complexity and finesse. Because of its sheer extract and velvety personality, it will be drinkable in 4-5 years, and will keep for four decades or more where well-stored. The most profound L’Evangile ever made?”

2009 Chateau Figeac

8 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 4,050/ case (inc GST $4,374)

“Even in this super-ripe vintage Figeac retains its usual red bell pepper aroma (from the cabernet sauvignon grape) and that adds a light touch to the opulent fruit cake and spice character. The full fine tannins beautifully support the rich palate and make the finish very long and plush. A great 2009!”

2010 Chateau Figeac

10 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 4,350/ case (inc GST $4,698)

“The 2010 Figeac has a youthful and exuberant bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry, cassis and violets that soar from the glass. There is no stopping the aromatics here. The palate is rich and sensual on the entry with precocious red fruit laced with blood orange and cedar. It firms up a little towards the structured finish that exerts fine grip and there is real persistence in evidence. This is a very classy 2010 Right Bank, this bottle showing even better than the example at a few days earlier.”

2012 Chateau La Fleur Petrus

20 cases (x6) @ SGD$ 1,650/ case (inc GST $1,782)

“Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 La Fleur Pétrus has a mint-fresh bouquet, vigorous and vivid, with delineated red cherry, raspberry and cassis fruit under which is a strata of wet limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This is a more understated Pomerol but there is real nuance here, black truffle and leather tinging the introspective black fruit. Yet behind that is harmony and finesse, notwithstanding impressive length and sustain. It may be slightly over-shadowed by the sensational Trotanoy, but Pomerol-lovers will lap up this fantastic La Fleur-Petrus from the JP Moueix team.”

2010 Chateau Gazin

10 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 1,950/ case (inc GST $2,106)

“The 2010 Gazin has a delightful bouquet with more red than black fruit (raspberry, cranberry and a touch of red cherry) – a joyful and perhaps less “serious” nose, but one with detail and class. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. This feels very lithe with an almost perfect bead of acidity. Harmonious and extremely long, this is a brilliant Pomerol from Nicolas de Bailliencourt and it will age with supreme class. Outstanding.”

2012 Chateau Hosanna

20 cases (x6) @ SGD$ 1,290/ case (inc GST $1,393.20)

“The 2012 Hosanna is a powerhouse, incredibly sexy beauty that’s right up there at the top of the scale. Made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, this deep ruby/purple colored beauty boasts knockout notes of blackcurrants, dried tobacco, spice box, forest floor and graphite. While it’s a big, rich, full-bodied effort, it just glides across the palate with a weightless, elegant texture. With sweet tannin, a layered, seamless personality and a big finish, this is an incredible wine that’s already offering pleasure, yet will keep for another 15-20 years.”

2010 Vieux Château Certan

5 cases (x12) @ SGD$ 5,700/ case (inc GST $6,156)

“The 2010 Vieux Château Certan is deep garnet in color, and—POW—the nose opens as a complete spice-bomb, featuring notes of fenugreek, cumin seed and cinnamon stick over a core of Black Forest cake, plum preserves and blueberry pie with hints of fragrant earth and crushed stones. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it is laden with layers of black and blue fruit preserves, framed by super plush tannins, finishing epically long and perfumed.”
