Hence why we are beyond thrilled to offer 13 very rare original cases of Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques from the highly rated 2014 vintage.

Over the last fifteen years, Arnaud Mortet (son of Denis Mortet who died in 2006), developed his own style producing fresh and graceful wine with refined tannins that perfectly express the identity of their terroir.

• Vineyard: 1.20 hectare.
  
• Age of the vines: 60 years old.
• Average production: 6 000 bottles.
• Vine growing: Organic principles.
• Winemaking: only natural yeasts
•  Aging: 18 months in oak barrels: 70%
      in new barrels, 30% in 1-wine barrels.

There is good size, weight and power to the overtly muscular and stony flavors that possess terrific punch on the firm, youthfully austere and mouth coating finish where a touch of wood emerges. This relatively opulent effort exhibits simply terrific depth and I particularly like the balance here. In a word, impressive.”

“Deep, bright red. Deep, smoky scents of dark raspberry, game and minerals. Juicy and very intense but youthfully imploded, conveying the sappiness of the vintage in spades. A wonderfully taut, mineral-driven Lavaux with a sappy, saline character to its dark berry fruit. Finishes rich and firmly tannic, with terrific lingering perfume.”
