2016 Eredi Fuligni, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
SGD $400 ($436 inc GST) per magnum (1.5L) OWC – 2 Magnums available
99 Points James Suckling
“The complexity and beauty of this wine is something else on the nose, offering perfume, cedar, dried flower, black cherry, blueberry and crushed stone. Orange peel, too. Full-bodied with incredible layers of ultra-fine tannins that give this wine horizontal depth that almost seems endless. Extremely long and lightly chewy at the end. This is one for the cellar. Try after 2026.”

“The 2016 Barolo Riserva Rüncot is quite possibly the single greatest wine I have tasted in more than twenty years I have been coming here, with the possible exception of the 1989s and 1990s. Deep and powerful, but not at all heavy, the 2016 dazzles from the very first taste. Dark cherry/plum fruit, menthol, lavender, licorice and mocha saturate the palate in a Barolo of extraordinary richness and intensity. The 2016 spent four years in 100% new oak, and yet there is no trace at all of wood. Magnificent!”
2016 Elio Grasso, Barolo Gavarini Chiniera
SGD $780 ($850.20 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 1 case available
98 Points Monica Larner
“The Elio Grasso 2016 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is immediately expressive and bright. The wine is savory and rich with a generous bouquet of dried berries, spice, crushed flowers and even a hint of market-fresh blueberry that we don’t see in the other wines. The bouquet moves toward balsam notes with mint and rosemary the longer it stays in the glass. I also get anise flower and fresh licorice root as a pretty signature on the close. With aging in large Slavonian oak casks, the tannic integration is spot-on and so is the freshness and purity of those beautiful Nebbiolo nuances. Some 20,000 bottles were released.”
2016 Elio Grasso, Barolo Ginestra Casa Mate
SGD $130 ($141.70 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 12 bottles available
SGD $780 ($850.20 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 1 case available
97 Points Antonio Galloni
“Ample and creamy on the palate, with tremendous depth, the 2016 Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè is super impressive, even in the early going. Next to the Gavarini Chiniera, the Ginestra Casa Matè is a Barolo of textural resonance and volume. Black cherry, plum and a range of balsamic notes infuse the 2016 with tons of character. The is one of the real standouts of the year.”
2016 Tenuta di Ghizzano, Veneroso
SGD $360 ($392.40 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 2 cases available
97 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2016 Veneroso is one of the most elegant wines I have tasted from Ghizzano. Bright, effusive aromatics lift a core of red Sangiovese fruit, all framed by nervous tannins that give the wine its shape. Sweet tobacco, dried leaves, mint, cedar and incense develop later, adding further shades of nuance. The purity of the flavors is simply striking. Magnificent.”
2016 Soldera, Toscana IGT Sangiovese
SGD $1,150 ($1,253.50 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 3 bottles available
97 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2016 Toscana Sangiovese finds Gianfranco Soldera at his best. A complex, dynamic wine, the 2016 possesses explosive energy to match its electric personality. Macerated cherry, herbs, dried rose petals, cedar and wildflowers are some of the many notes that come alive in the glass. The wine’s deep, layered character and overall nuance are the stuff dreams are made of. Superb.”
2016 Renato Corino, Barolo Arborina
SGD $80 ($87.20 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 5 bottles available
SGD $480 ($523.20 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 4 cases available

“Aromas of dried strawberries, citrus fruit, flower sand sandalwood. Full-bodied and really powerful with fantastic layering of fruit and ripe tannins. Strawberries, spices, mushrooms and dried flowers. Superb finish. This is a great Barolo. Really well done. Try after 2023.”
2016 Roberto Voerzio, Barolo Cerequio
SGD $2,250 ($2,452.50 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 4 cases available
100 Points James Suckling
“Wow. This is archetypal Barolo with a solid cylinder of polished tannins running through the center of the wine from start to finish. Full-bodied and wonderfully constructed with the tannins and beautiful fruit in all the right places. Dark fruit, dried earth and mushrooms with mild, hazelnut notes. Fantastic is the word to describe it. Endless finish. Drink after 2024 and onwards.”
2016 Salvioni, Brunello di Montalcino La Cerbaiola
SGD $1,680 ($1,831.20 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 2 cases available
97+ Points Eric Guido – vinous.com
“The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino slowly comes to life, opening with a smoky, brooding and dark bouquet. It first unleashes its florals with crushed roses and hints of geranium, then deepens to reveal black cherry and raspberry, and finally a chorus of tobacco and wild herbs. You could lose yourself in the glass. The 2016 is incredibly silky and textural, displaying a youthful density that tempts the imagination while casting a savory display of mineral-tinged dark fruits, more black than red, with hints of dried orange and exotic spice. A saturation of fine tannin awaits on the finish, previously masked by the Salvioni’s primary power, as a mix of sage and hints of licorice slowly fade. There is so much potential here; but today, the 2016 is in dire need of cellaring. I tasted the 2016 multiple times over the course of two days and it didn’t budge.”
2016 Sandrone, Barolo Aleste
SGD $225 ($245.25 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 13 bottles available
98 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2016 Barolo Aleste is ample, creamy and expansive in feel. But more than that, the 2016 stands out for its freshness, persistence and brilliance. In so many vintages, the Aleste (formerly known as Cannubi Boschis) has been rich and powerful in feel, but in 2016, the wine is all about finesse. The red-fruited, floral purity of Nebbiolo comes through beautifully here; I especially admire the wine’s translucence. Wow.”
2016 Sandrone, Barolo Le Vigne
SGD $550 ($599.50 inc GST) per magnum (1×1.5L) OWC – 3 Magnums available
100 Points Monica Larner
“I absolutely adore this wine on every emotional and intellectual level. I can still taste it today, weeks after my first sampling. The Luciano Sandrone 2016 Barolo Le Vigne is a stirring and profound expression that pulls on your heartstrings. I found it to be unforgettable, quite literally, inspiring one of those celebrated “wow” moments that we wine lovers so desperately seek in bottle after bottle. Le Vigne is a clever blend of fruit from Baudana in Serralunga d’Alba (offering the power), Villero in Castiglione Falletto (shaping the precision), Vignane in Barolo (adding to the purity of the aromas) and Merli in Novello (that helps to flesh out the fruit). This intersection of various vineyards spanning the appellation creates a pyramid of perfection and beauty. The wine shows large construction, but that fruit weight is balanced against the vivid cherry, spice, aniseed and campfire ash that gently lift from the bouquet.”
2016 Vietti, Barolo Ravera
SGD $1,200 ($1,308 inc GST) per case (1×3) OWC – 1 case available
100 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2016 Barolo Ravera is bursting with all of the tension that is the most singular characteristic of this site. Freshly cut flowers, white pepper and mint lend energy to a wine that is very shy and tightly wound today. Then again, it is Ravera. Macerated dark cherry, lavender, mint, crushed rocks and sage race out of the glass in a potent, stunning Barolo endowed with magnificent purity and translucency. The 2016 is quite simply a stunning, breathtaking wine. Don’t miss it.”
