CLOUDBURST

2018 Cloudburst Chardonnay

9 bottles (x75cl) @ SGD$ 205/ bottle (inc GST $221.40)

“This is bright and vivid with fantastic structure and tension. Aromas of lightly cooked apples, cream and hints of toasted oak. Full-bodied, yet so bright and agile. Goes on for minutes. Minerally, tangy and bright. Drink or hold. Screw cap.”

97 Points James Suckling

2019 Cloudburst Chardonnay

9 bottles (x75cl) @ SGD$ 210/ bottle (inc GST $226.80)

“An incredible Chardonnay from Margaret River with layers of complexity and nuance. So many aromatic touches on the nose, salty lemon notes alongside apricot, peach and lime zest with buttery almond edges. These follow through on the palate with a satisfying creamy texture. Smooth and structured, weighty but not overpowering and with a vein of freshness and wet stone minerality that gives it such life and energy. Hard not to love this. A total production of 2,288 bottles produced in 2018 by owner-winemaker Will Berliner. Grapes are hand sorted and whole-bunch pressed directly into barrel. An atypically cool spring and summer with unprecedented frost meant low yields and a harvest that was two weeks later than unusual. Despite the challenges this is a powerful and precise wine that is great to drink now and will age.”

CLARENDON HILLS

2009 Clarendon Hills, Astralis

6 cases (x6) @ SGD$ 1,400/ case (inc GST $1,512)

“Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Astralis presents a very fruity, floral nose with lifted notes of blueberries. The palate is concentrated with a slight prune character and has very crisp acidity. At this stage the phenolics are showing a little chewy before finishing long. Drink it now to 2027+.”

97 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown

2011 Clarendon Hills, Astralis

5 cases (x6) @ SGD$ 1,080/ case (inc GST $1,166.40)

“The deep garnet-purple 2011 Astralis offers a nose redolent of Christmas pudding, allspice, mocha and anise along with a lovely core of prunes, black cherry preserves and dusty earth. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with elegant, effortless fruit, with a medium level of finely grained tannins, just enough acidity, and a long and multi-layered finish. Drink it 2015 to 2030+.”

HENSCHKE

1998 Henschke, Hill of Grace

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 2,700/ case (inc GST $2,916)

“Dark crimson. Healthy looking. Minty note for the first time. Very direct nose. Opulent fruit. Rich. Exotic ladies’-handbags notes. Broad and attention grabbing. Mellow start but then the framework becomes quite obvious. Ambitious. Sore-throat wine.”

19/20 Points Jancis Robinson MW

2012 Henschke, Hill of Grace

2 cases (x3) @ SGD$ 2,600/ case (inc GST $2,808)

“Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2012 Hill of Grace Shiraz is a little reticent on the nose to begin, opening out to a somewhat paradoxically tantalizing Black Forest cake, beef dripping, fertile loam and tree bark nose with hints of black pepper, Marmite, bay leaves, eucalyptus, licorice and baker’s chocolate. The medium to full-bodied palate is a wonderfully intricate mélange of mineral, savory, dark fruits and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing epically. This is a truly great Hill of Grace that has just entered the first stage of its drinking window and should continue to develop beautifully over the next 25+ years.”

99 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown

STANDISH

2018 Standish, Andelmonde Shiraz

5 bottles (x75cl) @ SGD$ 110/ bottle (inc GST $118.80)

“A parcel of 1950s vines from Light Pass with brown sand on red-clay soils. This has an earthy layer to the aromas with bright red fruit and red plums, as well as a light foresty edge. The palate has a very rich, intense and powerful feel with plush, enveloping tannins and a very fleshy core with such intensity of fruit. Full-bodied, yet supple. Dense finish. Drink or hold.”

95 Points James Suckling

2019 Standish, The Standish Shiraz

4 bottles (x75cl) @ SGD$ 115/ bottle (inc GST $124.20)

“Such concentrated blueberry and cherry aromas, as well as violets and fresh-earth aromas. This delivers an immediate sense of richness with chocolate in the mix, too. Very pure. The palate has a very resolved feel with deep, essence-like fruit flavors that hold a rich, plum and blackberry line that drives long and very even. This is really something. Drink over the next decade.”

98 Points James Suckling

PENFOLDS

NV Penfolds G4

6 bottles (x75cl) OWC @ SGD$ 2,990/ bottle (inc GST $3,229.20)

“The complexity here is astonishing with dried flowers, crushed blackberries and blueberries and forest berries. Sandalwood. Full-bodied with a big dimension to the fruit and ripe tannins. Ethereal and long with superb balance that goes on and on. Grilled-meat and black-truffle character on the palate. Subtle, yet complex and intense. A blend of 2002, 2004, 2008 and 2016 vintages of Grange. The finish lasts a good 10 minutes. Glorious. Still needs three or four years to come together. Try after 2023.”

100 Points James Suckling
