September’s suite of fine wine releases from La Place de Bordeaux is now well established in our calendars. As we approach the final days of the holiday season, we are looking forward to guiding you through the creme-de-la-creme of next month’s new releases.
Initially September was a time when the negociants looked Beyond Bordeaux, indeed the wines offered were almost all from California or Italy.Over time the range expanded to South America, and latterly Australia, before returning to France with wines such as Beaucastel’s Hommage a Jacques Perrin.Today the circle has been closed and September sees new releases from the likes of Chateaux Latour and d’Yquem rubbing shoulders with new world 1st growths like Opus One and Sena.
As the number and pace of new releases continues to increase, we aim to bring to your attention a curated selection of September’s highlights. Some of the most exciting of this year’s wines will include:
Masseto 2020 & Solaia 2019: two exceptional years for these Tuscan greats.
Chile’s iconic Sena in the James Suckling 100/100 2021 vintage.
Pym Rae 2019 – Pontet Canet’s Napa out-post & 100/100 for Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW.
A new addition to La Place: Hermitage La Chapelle.

Releases from Mouton-Rothschild’s seminal collaborations: Opus One & Almaviva.
