BOND...James Bond - Made by Harlan, Producing 1st Growth Quality Wines!

Sorry we couldn’t resist with the title but on a serious note, we are thrilled to offer a fabulous selection of BOND Estate!

This iconic Californian estate was founded in 1997 by Bill Harlan, who is also the owner of Harlan Estate, one of the most acclaimed wines in Napa Valley. Harlan had a vision to create a collection of wines that would represent the diversity and excellence of Napa Valley’s terroir through a single varietal, the Cabernet Sauvignon. He selected five vineyards that he believed had the potential to produce “Grand Cru” level wines: Melbury, Quella, St. Eden, Vecina, and Pluribus.

Each vineyard has its own personality, microclimate, and elevation, ranging from 600 to 1,800 feet above sea level. Harlan hired winemaker Cory Empting, who had worked at Harlan Estate, to oversee the viticulture and vinification of each vineyard. Empting follows the same high standards and quality as Harlan Estate, using organic and biodynamic practices, natural yeast, and minimal intervention.

The selection we present today features several wines that have received a perfect score and have garnered high praise from critics: a wine of structure and myriad shades of dimension…rare mix of power and elegance possessed by all truly great wines…wonderfully complete and thrilling…This is a real head-turner!”

Bond Estate’s annual wine production is limited, typically ranging from 500 to 600 cases for each vineyard, rendering them exceptionally rare!

These are in beautiful condition and sharply priced against the market. Please let us know if you would like to add these to your collection by contacting your account manager or by simply clicking on the “Shop now” button.

2013 Bond Estate, Melbury

1 case (x6) @ SGD$ 5,100/ case (inc GST $5,508)

“Power, depth and tannic clout – all signatures of this great Napa Valley vintage – come through in the 2013 Melbury. Bright acids and beams of tannin give the flavors striking vibrancy. Black cherry, plum, mocha, pine, sage and crushed rocks are some of the notes that flesh out in the glass, but above all else, the 2013 is a wine of structure and myriad shades of dimension. It is also, in my view, the most complete Melbury. (Drink between 2023-2038)”

2016 Bond Estate, Melbury

1 Magnum (x1.5L) @ SGD$ 2,000/ Mag (inc GST $2,160)

“Moving to the single vineyard releases, the 2016 Melbury is pure perfection in a glass and is the finest vintage of this cuvée I’ve tasted. Awesome notes of cassis, blackcurrants, toasted bread, white flowers, and spice give way to an ethereal, seamless, yet opulent wine that has that rare mix of power and elegance possessed by all truly great wines. Full-bodied, concentrated, and with building yet perfectly ripe tannins, do your best to give bottles 4-5 years of bottle age. It will evolve effortlessly for 30 years or more.”

2016 Bond Estate, Quella

1 Magnum (x1.5L) @ SGD$ 2,000/ Mag (inc GST $2,160)

“This is really crazy with decadent and opulent aromas of dark fruit and sliced meat. Hints of dried fruit, too. Sexy. Full-bodied with firm and silky tannins that fan out into the wine and deliver a beautiful frame and focus. Drink or hold.”

2016 Bond Estate, St. Eden

1 Magnum (x1.5L) @ SGD$ 2,200/ Mag (inc GST $2,376)

“Another perfect wine in the lineup is the 2016 St. Eden, which comes from a hillside of red volcanic soils just outside of Oakville. As with the 2015, wine doesn’t get any better, and this inky hued 2016 offers up a smorgasbord of crème de cassis, blackberries, crushed rocks, toasty oak, new leather, and tobacco. Deep, full-bodied, powerful yet also incredibly elegant, it offers pleasure even today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and cruise for 30 years or more.”

2018 Bond Estate, Melbury

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 2,700/ case (inc GST $2,916)

“The 2018 Melbury is, as always, the first of the single-vineyard wines presented at Bond. The order is always the same: Melbury-Quella-St. Eden-Vecina and Pluribus. I suppose that makes sense from the standpoint of concentration and structure, but it is quite penalizing for the Melbury, a wine that is more about elegance than power or tannins. That said, the 2018 is not a shy wine, it certainly has plenty of depth. Freshness, energy and verve are the signatures in a Cabernet that is all about intangibles. Hints of dark red cherry, tobacco, rose petal, mint and sweet spice emerge over time. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. (Drink between 2028-2043)”

98 Points Antonio Galloni

2018 Bond Estate, Pluribus

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 3,000/ case (inc GST $3,240)

“The 2018 Pluribus captures all of the savory, mineral intensity of this site on Spring Mountain. Searing tannins, once such a challenge here, are much more finessed than in the past. Crushed rocks, mint, blood orange, gravel, exotic spice and rose petal lend tremendous complexity as the Pluribus shows off its considerable allure. This taut, mountain Cabernet Sauvignon has so much to offer. Today, it is wonderfully complete and thrilling. Even so, the best is yet to come. (Drink between 2028-2043)”

99 Points Antonio Galloni

2018 Bond Estate, Quella

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 2,700/ case (inc GST $2,916)

“Blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors with some conifer and stone. Full-to medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins that are fine and intense. Clarity to this wine. Try after 2024.”

98 Points James Suckling

2018 Bond Estate, St. Eden

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 2,700/ case (inc GST $2,916)

“Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 St Eden charges out of the gate with rambunctious notes of wild blueberries, cassis, and mocha followed by suggestions of charcoal, fertile loam, and cardamom. Full-bodied, firm, and tightly knit, the palate has a sturdy structure and seamless freshness, finishing long and minerally.”

98+ Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown

2018 Bond Estate, Vecina

1 case (x3) @ SGD$ 3,150/ case (inc GST $3,402)

“Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Vecina springs with notes of black raspberries, redcurrant jelly, and crushed blackcurrants scents, with hints of roses, cinnamon toast, and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is very fine-grained and elegant with tightly knit flavors and a perfumed finish. This is a real head-turner!”
