2020 Armand Rousseau, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $1,440 per bottle (inc GST $1,569.60) – 1 bottle available
94/96 Points Neal Martin
“The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a mixture of red and black fruit, beautifully delineated, hints of blood orange and crushed stone percolating through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, perfectly judged acidity, slightly granular in texture towards the finish that displays commendable weight and length. Again, there is just the right sapidity on the finish. Superb.”
2015 Bernard Dugat Py, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $2,100 per case (inc GST $2,289) (3x75cl OWC) – 1 case available
96 Points Allen Meadows
“A layered and subtly spiced nose offers up notes of slightly fresher aromas of rose petal, newly turned earth, liqueur-like dark berry fruit and a hint of the sauvage that are trimmed in soft wood nuances. There is admirable richness and concentration to the full-bodied and broad-shouldered flavors that also coat the palate with dry extract that imparts a caressing mouthfeel to the hugely long and powerful finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. Really good stuff but lots of patience will be necessary.”
2009 Claude Dugat, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $630 per bottle (inc GST $686.70) – 12 bottles available
95 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2009 Charmes-Chambertin is absolutely stunning today. Black cherries, freshly cut flowers, mint, tar, licorice and spices are woven together in a fabric of exceptional class and elegance. A flashy, extroverted finish captures the essence of the very best qualities of the year and the house style.”
2021 Coquard Loison-Fleurot, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $375 per bottle (inc GST $408.75) – 58 bottles available
92/94 Points Neal Martin
“The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which comes from vines located in Mazoyères, has a splendid bouquet with blackberry, white tipped strawberry and light earthy scents that gradually unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine, sorbet-fresh entry, cassis and blackberry that frame a finely tuned and quite powerful finish. Collardot mentioned that he was bestowed by the full complement of 6 barrels this year and this wine seems to be celebrating that fact!”
2017 Denis Bachelet, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $1,030 per bottle (inc GST $1,122.70) – 4 bottles available
96 Points William Kelley
“Bachelet’s 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is a magical young wine that entirely meets the high expectations I formed for it in barrel. Soaring from the glass with aromas of cassis, cherries, licorice, smoked meats, orange rind, incense and violets, it’s full-bodied, textural and enveloping, with superb concentration and disarmingly sweet, velvety tannins, concluding with a long and lively finish. This is a dramatic young Charmes that’s already head-turning and will age with immense grace.”
2020 Denis Bachelet, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $1,250 per bottle (inc GST $1,362.50) – 6 bottles available
96-98 Points William Kelley
“There are only five barrels of the monumental 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes, a wine Denis Bachelet is inclined to rank alongside his 2002 and 1999 as among the greatest hits of his career. Unfurling in the glass with notes of peonies, rose petals, wild berries, loamy soil, black truffle, exotic spices and blood orange, it’s full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with huge concentration, lively acids and beautifully ripe, powdery tannins. Concluding with a long and perfumed finish, it’s one of the wines of the vintage.”
2018 Dujac, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $2,550 per case (inc GST $2,779.50) (3x75cl OC) – 1 case available
93 Points Allen Meadows
“A ripe, fresh and unusually elegant, indeed even perfumed, nose displays notes of black raspberry, cassis and plenty of floral influences. There is both good focus and density to the suave yet quite powerful and vibrant medium weight flavors that culminate in a mildly warm, compact and rustic finale. This is both serious and firmly structured so once again, patience advised.”
2020 Dujac, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $2,550 per case (inc GST $2,779.50) (3x75cl OC) – 1 case available
94/96 Points Neal Martin
“The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a lovely bouquet, beautifully defined with pure dark cherries, raspberry with touches of clove and white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip, quite structured for a Charmes-Chambertin, lightly-spiced with a cohesive and quite persistent finish.”
2021 Duroche, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $810 per bottle (inc GST $882.90) – 6 bottles available
92/94 Points William Kelley
“Rather powerful and muscular by the standards of the vintage, the 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru reveals aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with rose petals, spices and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a textural mid-palate and a long, perfumed finish, this is impressive.”
