Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru Parcels

Domaine Armand Rousseau is one of the most collectable and desirable wines in the world and getting your hand on a bottle is not easy! That’s why we are thrilled today to offer six parcels containing four vintages of Domaine Rousseau Ruchottes Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru that span from 2015 to 2019.

Ruchottes Chambertin is one of the smallest and most distinctive Grand Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin, and Domaine Rousseau owns the entire 1.06 hectares of the Clos des Ruchottes, making it a monopole. The parcel we offer today includes only vintages which have received fantastic scores from critics such as Allen Meadows and Neal Martin, who praised its “decidedly sleek and stunningly long finish…Superb aftertaste…Is this the finest Ruchottes-Chambertin in 2016? Without a shadow of a doubt…This is seriously good high-quality juice”.

Clos des Ruchottes offers a very interesting proposition compared to Clos St Jacques. Both wines have similar scores, but Ruchottes Chambertin is significantly cheaper than the Premier Cru, making it a great value for money. If you are looking for a sublime and rare wine from one of the best vintages and producers in Burgundy, you should not miss this chance!

These were bought on release and sharply priced versus to market. Please let us know if you would like to secure a parcel by contacting your account manager or by simply clicking on the “Shop now” button.

2019 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Ruchottes Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru
“An elegant combination is comprised by notes of various red berries, especially essence of cherry, along with anise, the sauvage and a pretty dollop of spice elements, all of which is trimmed in enough wood to notice. The energetic and beautifully well-detailed and tautly muscular yet elegant flavors brim with an abundance of dry extract and minerality while concluding in a decidedly sleek and stunningly long finish that evidences a hint of youthful austerity. This markedly firm effort is gorgeous and possesses the wherewithal to age and improve for two to three decades.”
95 Points Allen Meadows

2018 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Ruchottes Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru
“The 2018 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru has a broody nose at first, featuring black rather than red fruit, wet limestone, iris flowers and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with filigreed tannins and excellent acidity. Quite saline toward the finish. Superb aftertaste.”
95/97 Points Neal Martin

2016 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Ruchottes Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru
“The 2016 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru, which Cyrille described as her “heart wine,” has a superb bouquet with ebullient dark cherries, bergamot, blackberry and briary, wonderful delineation and demonstrating more exuberance than Mugneret-Gibourg (which as affected by frost, whereas Rousseau was not). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, shimmering red fruit, outstanding mineralité and a subtle crescendo toward the pixilated finish. Is this the finest Ruchottes-Chambertin in 2016? Without a shadow of a doubt.”
96/98 Points Neal Martin

2015 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Ruchottes Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru
“A moderately high-toned nose combines notes of dark cherry, plum, lavender, earth and a lovely array of spice elements. The sleek and intense middle weight plus flavors possess terrific delineation as well as evident minerality before concluding in a racy finish that is even more powerful than usual. This is impressive and the mouthfeel is one of class and grace thanks to the notably fine-grained tannins shaping the finish. This is seriously good high quality juice that is definitely bigger and more full-bodied than usual but even so it is perhaps less marked by the elevated ripeness level of the 2015 vintage despite the presence of a subtle hint of backend warmth.”
95 Points Allen Meadows
