Jeb Dunnuck was “blown away” by the 2020 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf du Pape Chaupin. A 99-point superstar from a great vintage, it is “a Grenache lover’s dream” that, considering the enormous score, makes a mockery of its price tag. We are, therefore, delighted to have well-priced original cases to offer.

2020 was an excellent vintage for the Southern Rhône Valley. For Dunnuck, these are “beautifully textured, elegant, medium to full-bodied wines that are already drinking nicely yet will have broad drink windows” and “they have beautiful purity and balance, soft tannins, and already complex profiles”. The best producers, such as Janasse, made superb wines. 

A 100% Grenache for a superb lieu-dit, the Chaupin is an incredible wine in 2020. For Dunnuck, it “screams Grenache with its sexy, ripe, seamless, and remarkably elegant style” and “Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it has silky tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish”.
