*From one of Burgundy’s elite vineyards and rising star producers*
*Outscores Rousseau Chambertin at a fraction of the price*
*Great price on a parcel of original cases*

With a Rousseau beating scores from Neal Martin and Jasper Morris, the 2021 Chambertin from JL Trapet is a fantastic young Grand Cru in the making that deserves serious attention. If you’re a fan of this iconic vineyard then it should be secured on sight, so we are thrilled to have a very well-priced parcel of original cases to offer.

Neal Martin is a huge fan of what this producer has been recently achieving. For him, “Trapet has been on a roll in recent vintages; the wines are frankly better than ever” and “There is unerring purity from start to finish without short-changing in terms of flavour or complexity”. This 2021 Chambertin is the perfect showcase for the house style.

Neal Martin calls it medium-bodied with pliant tannins, wonderful depth, great intensity and vibrancy with a long and persistent finish” and a magnificent 2021”His 96-98 point score is phenomenal and well above the 92-94 points awarded to Rousseau’s Chambertin in the same vintage. It’s the same story from Jasper Morris who gives a whopping 96-99 points and says It is not just the concentration which moves to another level but the sublime and effortless suavity of texture.”

This is arguably the buy of the vintage. Details are below, do take a look and let us know if you would like to secure a case or two.

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru includes 60% whole clusters. This has a typically regal bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, loam, crushed stone and spicebox. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, wonderful depth, great intensity and vibrancy with a long and persistent finish. This simply builds and builds unlike the Chapelle-Chambertin, a magnificent 2021. (2022) www.vinous.com Drink 2027-2055

Picked 28th September. A rich, indeed sumptuous purple. Exceptionally youthful bouquet with a little touch of new wood. A magical wine, which is entirely in balance. It is not just the concentration which moves to another level but the sublime and effortless suavity of texture. All in pure red fruit, nothing dark, my favourite alpine strawberries, but a host of other berries as well. Magical. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted: December 2022www.insideburgundy.com
