2023 Chateau Lynch Bages

We have a tremendous new release today from one of Pauillac’s most famous well-loved Chateau, Lynch Bages. Quintessential Pauillac that provides superb quality and excellent value in any given vintage, this is an impressive Lynch in 2023.

Lynch Bages’s loyal following of fans ensures that this is always one of our fastest en primeur sellers and, thanks to a series of exceptional releases in recent years, demand has been consistently strong. The 2023 looks set to follow that trend thanks to some big scores from the critics. James Suckling leads with 97-98 points for a wine he calls “Vertical and layered with lovely length. Antonio Galloni is also a fan, calling it “a dark, brooding wine… quite the powerhouse”.

Details are below, do take a look and let me know if you would like a case or two if this, the second wine, Echo de Lynch Bages secured:

Blackberry, black cherry, crushed stone and graphite. Lead pencil, too. It’s full-bodied with juicy, chewy tannins. Vertical and layered with lovely length. Quite plush. Chewy tannins at the end. Cabernet sauvignon driven. Showing excellent potential. www.jamessuckling.com

94-97 points Antonio Galloni
The 2023 Lynch-Bages is a dark, brooding wine. In so many vintages, Lynch-Bages is a wine of sensuality, but in 2023, it is quite the powerhouse. Formidable tannins wrap around a core of black fruit, spice, menthol, licorice and gravel. This is a somber, introspective Lynch-Bages with a ton of Cabernet Sauvignon character. I can’t wait to taste this from bottle. (2024) www.vinous.com Drink 2023-2073

A balance of blackberry, chocolate and stone with a medium body, creamy texture and a soft finish. The length and depth are very pretty, while the juicy, velvety tannins are so attractive. www.jamessuckling.com
