Delicious Pomerol From Our Singapore Cellars

We are thrilled to offer a very smart selection of Pomerol’s from 1989 all the 2016 direct from our cellars in Singapore.

The smallest of Bordeaux’s major appellations, Pomerol is home to just 150 producers with only 800 hectares under vine. With such a tiny area dedicated to vineyards, it is no surprise that production for most Chateaux here is extremely limited, often around 1,000 cases.

Great scores from the critics who say “the stuff of dreams…a near perfect…dazzling…one of the finest…finishing epically long and perfumed…This sumptuous, inviting Pomerol is a star in the making. Don’t miss it…a seriously impressive.”

These are lying in our lovely temperature controlled cellars and ready for immediate delivery. Please let us know if these are of interest.

With best wishes,
The Vinum Team

1989 Chateau Clinet
SGD $1,100 ($1,199 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 3 bottles available
100 Points Robert Parker
“One of the great modern-day Bordeaux, the 1989 Clinet still has a saturated purple color and a sweet nose of creme de cassis intermixed with incense, licorice, smoke, and mineral. As the wine sits in the glass, more blueberry and blackberry notes emerge, intermixed with some toasty oak, earth, and spice. This spectacularly concentrated, full-bodied, multi-dimensional wine is the stuff of dreams. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025.”

1998 Chateau La Fleur Petrus
SGD $525 ($572.25 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 3 bottles available
SGD $3,000 ($3,270 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 2 cases available
98 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown
“Tasted from magnum, the deep garnet-brick colored 1998 la Fleur-Petrus has alluring hoisin, charcuterie, cigar box, sandalwood and potpourri notes with a core of dried mulberries, kirsch, plum preserves and menthol plus hints of tobacco, figs and leather. Soft and satiny textured in the medium to full-bodied mouth, it has bags of earth and minted cassis flavors accenting the dried berries and earthy layers, finishing with a spicy lift.”

1998 Chateau Le Pin
SGD $6,250 ($6,812.50 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 3 bottles available
99 Points Jane Anson
“Richest of the lineup in terms of decadent black cherry and damson plum that seduce straight from the first hit and expand upwards and outwards through the palate. Structured and precise and yet full of abandon, with crème de cassis, bitter chocolate, cinnamon and smoked caramel edging. Pillow-plumped tannins are what always come to mind when I taste Le Pin, and here they are again, so soft and caressing that they are impossible to resist. 435 cases produced, a near perfect embodiment of the singular character of this property, clearly showcasing why it is so treasured. 100% new oak.”

2005 Chateau Petrus
SGD $37,500 ($40,875 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 1 case available
100 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2005 Petrus is dazzling. Rich, ample and explosive, the 2005 possesses magnificent density from start to finish. An exotic mélange of cedar, blood orange, spicebox, mint and dried flowers leads into a core of deep, concentrated fruit. All the elements meld together seamlessly in a Petrus that simply has it all. Readers fortunate enough to taste it will find a statuesque, monumental Petrus that is both powerful and refined. The 2005 continued to improve as I tasted it into the second day. It is without question one of the standout wines of 2005.”

2009 Chateau Clinet
SGD $3,900 ($4,251 inc GST) per case (x12 OWC) – 4 cases available
100 Points Robert Parker
“Clinet has been on a hot streak lately and the 2009 appears to be the greatest wine ever made at the estate, surpassing even the late Jean-Michel Arcaute’s monumental 1989. A blend of 85% Merlot and tiny amounts of Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), this big Pomerol boasts an opaque, moonless night inky/blue/purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of blueberry pie, incense, truffles, black raspberries, licorice and wood smoke. Viscous and multi-dimensional with silky, sweet tannin, massive fruit concentration and full-bodied power, there are nearly 4,000 cases of this thick, juicy, perfect Clinet. It should drink well in 3-5 years and keep for 25-30.”

2009 Vieux Chateau Certan
SGD $450 ($490.50 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 4 bottles available
99 Points Robert Parker
“The 2009’s nearly 14% natural alcohol, exquisite ripeness, and incredible complex bouquet of Asian spices, fruitcake, licorice, smoke, blackberries and black currants are to die for. A blend of 84% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses a viscous texture as well as a freshness and vibrancy that are remarkable given the wine’s weight, richness and potential massiveness. This extraordinary effort is one of the finest Vieux Chateau Certans made over the last sixty years. It will undoubtedly shut down in bottle, requiring a decade or more of cellaring. It should keep for 50 years thereafter. Proprietor Thienpont thinks it is a modern day version of the 1948.”

2010 Chateau Hosanna
SGD $1,800 ($1,962 inc GST) per case (x12 OWC) – 1 case available
98 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown
“Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2010 Hosanna storms out with earthy notes of crushed rocks, tar, and truffles, leading to a core of black cherry compote and plum preserves with hints of star anise and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate delivers loads of savory and mineral layers and ripe, rounded tannins, finishing with great length and precision.”

2010 Vieux Chateau Certan
SGD $3,150 ($3,433.50 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 7 cases available
100 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown
“The 2010 Vieux Château Certan is deep garnet in color, and—POW—the nose opens as a complete spice-bomb, featuring notes of fenugreek, cumin seed and cinnamon stick over a core of Black Forest cake, plum preserves and blueberry pie with hints of fragrant earth and crushed stones. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it is laden with layers of black and blue fruit preserves, framed by super plush tannins, finishing epically long and perfumed.”

2015 Chateau Hosanna
SGD $250 ($272.50 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 3 bottles available
SGD $1,440 ($1,569.60 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 1 case available
97 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown
“A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Hosanna had a medium garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with an exotic perfume of smoked meats, truffles, sandalwood and Indian spices over a compelling core of cherry cordial, blackberry tart and blueberry compote plus suggestions of garrigue and rose hip tea. The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. Incredibly seductive and just plain delicious right now, hedonists can enjoy this captivating wine while it’s relatively young, while traditionalists can wait ten years and drink it over the next 25 years or more.”

2015 Chateau Vray Croix de Gay
SGD $540 ($588.60 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 2 cases available
95 Points Antonio Galloni
“The 2015 Vray Croix de Gay is just as alluring from bottle as it was from barrel. Inky, powerful and explosive, the 2015 exudes richness in all of its dimensions. Blueberry jam, crème de cassis, licorice, menthol, spice and lavender form an exotic mélange of aromas and flavors, but it is the wine’s balance and sense of proportion that are most impressive. Even with all of its intensity, the 2015 remains gracious and light on its feet for such a rich wine. This sumptuous, inviting Pomerol is a star in the making. Don’t miss it.”

2016 Chateau Le Bon Pasteur
SGD $660 ($719.40 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 3 cases available
94 Points Lisa Perrotti-Brown
“Deep garnet in color, the 2016 Le Bon Pasteur starts off with profound notions of plum pudding, baked blackberries, and black cherry compote, plus hints of star anise, dusty soil, and garrigue. Full-bodied, rich, and opulent in the mouth, it delivers velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with great length.”

2016 Chateau Hosanna
SGD $200 ($218 inc GST) per bottle (x75cl loose) – 3 bottles available
SGD $1,140 ($1,242.60 inc GST) per case (x6 OWC) – 1 case available
97 Points Neal Martin
“The 2016 Hosanna has a classy bouquet of delineated black fruit laced with cedar, tobacco and ferrous notes. The medium-bodied palate features supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and lovely spiciness toward the finish. There is impressive cohesion here and wonderful length, completing a seriously impressive Hosanna that appears to be improving in bottle.”
