Excellent 2009 - 2020 Domaine Rossignol-Trapet

We are excited to bring you a rare and exceptional offer directly from our cellars, exquisite wines from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, spanning the years 2009 to 2020.

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet represents the union of two storied winegrowing families, brought together through the marriage of Jacques Rossignol and Mado Trapet. Since 1990, their sons, Nicolas and David, have managed the 14-hectare domaine, which encompasses the villages of Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Gevrey-Chambertin.

Meticulous in both vineyard management and vinification, Rossignol-Trapet adheres to biodynamic principles and minimal intervention, creating wines that transcend expectations. Known for producing not just iconic Burgundy wines, the brothers craft remarkable and pure expressions that are both approachable when young and rewarding with age.

Allen Meadows and Neal Martin have showered these wines with accolades, describing them as “picture-perfect” with “excellent length” and “striking elegance.” Nearly all wines have been deemed ‘Outstanding’ by Allen Meadows!

2009 Rossignol-Trapet, Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $2,100 ($2,289 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 1 case available

93 Points Allen Meadows
“A reserved and also quite floral medium-pitched nose speaks of wet stone and anise on the restrained and pure red pinot fruit aromas that complement well the mineral-driven flavors that offer a seductively textured and energetic finish that possesses picture-perfect balance and excellent length. This is not a big wine and though it’s not strict, neither is it especially generous at present. However, a fine Latricières often puts on weight and flesh as it ages and I suspect that is what this will do too.”

2013 Rossignol-Trapet, Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $270 ($294.30 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 2 bottles available

94 Points Neal Martin
“Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very composed bouquet with fine delineation, bright redcurrant and cranberry fruit, later hints of dried blood and potpourri. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, gentle and yet harmonious with gorgeous mulberry and red plum fruit, underneath which lies very fine mineralité. With great length to boot, this is an excellent Latricières from Rossignol-Trapet.”

2016 Rossignol-Trapet, Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $675 ($735.75 inc GST) per magnum (1,5L) OC – 1 Magnum available

94 Points Neal Martin
“The 2016 Chambertin Grand Cru has a very well defined bouquet with pure red berry fruit, crushed stone, tea leaves and rose petal scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, a little tightness to contend with at first. Becomes razor-sharp towards the finish. Maybe I was expecting more substance, but the freshness and vitality carry this over the line.”

2018 Rossignol-Trapet, Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $2,450 ($2,670.50 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 2 cases available

96 Points Neal Martin
“The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru is initially understated on the nose, unfolding with brambly red fruit, undergrowth and just a light touch of morels. Very succinct with a kind of broody intensity – but maybe a touch of Brettanomyces? The palate is well balanced with a note of sour cherry and wild strawberry on the entry. Fine precision, moderate depth, though it is not the most profound Chambertin this year. Lovely edginess on the elegant finish, give this 4-5 years in bottle. Excellent.”

2018 Rossignol-Trapet, Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $1,560 ($1,700.40 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 1 case available

95 Points Neal Martin
“The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has an engaging bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, showing the most marine influences (oyster shells and kelp ) that impart complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine, pliant tannins. Harmonious, not powerful, quite elegant in style with a persistent finish. This is a classy and quite intellectual proposition. Excellent.”

2018 Rossignol-Trapet, Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru
SGD $1,740 ($1,896.60 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 1 case available

94 Points Neal Martin
“The 2018 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a pastille-like bouquet, very pure and much more floral than its peers, cohering nicely in the glass. The fruit becomes ever darker with emerging tertiary/truffle aromas. Quite heady and opulent, though clouded by Brettanomyces. This has very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus-fresh entry, notes of orange rind and marmalade percolating through the layers of dark berry fruit. It just needs a little more complexity on the finish.”

2019 Rossignol-Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru
SGD $960 ($1,046.40 inc GST) per case (1×6) OC – 2 cases available

93 Points Allen Meadows – ‘Outstanding’
“Strikingly elegant, pure and high-toned aromas derive more from the red side of the fruit spectrum to include cherry, currant and a hint of pomegranate, along with subtle nuances of spice and violet. The elegance doesn’t stop with the nose as there is lovely refinement to the intense, delineated and mineral-driven flavors that are at once seductive and punchy, all wrapped in a refreshing, balanced and impressively persistent finish. The sole reproach is that there is only average depth to this overtly austere and quite serious effort so it will need to add complexity as it ages.”

2020 Rossignol-Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Clos Prieur 1er Cru
SGD $160 ($174.40 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 6 bottles available

91/93 Points Allen Meadows – ‘Outstanding’
“A more elegant and once again, perfumed nose features notes of essence of plum, violet and a pretty range of spice wisps. The supple, delicious and appealingly energetic flavors are shaped by finer-grained tannins on the attractively texture, stylish and youthfully austere finish where a touch of minerality adds a sense of lift. Worth checking out.”

2020 Rossignol-Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Les Corbeaux 1er Cru
SGD $170 ($185.30 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 22 bottles available

91/93 Points Allen Meadows – ‘Outstanding’
“A brooding but attractive nose combines notes of dark berries, newly turned earth and plenty of sauvage character. As is almost always the case, there is both more volume and power to the denser medium weight plus flavors that flash evident muscle on the rustic, youthfully austere and impressively long finish. This is a classic Corbeaux that makes its Gevrey roots plain.”

2020 Rossignol-Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru
SGD $160 ($174.40 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 5 bottles available

89/91 Points Neal Martin
“The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru has an attractive mulberry, strawberry and rose petal scents nose that just needs a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, quite strict and backward, just missing some finesse on the finish compared to the Clos Prieur.”

2020 Rossignol-Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin V V
SGD $80 ($87.20 inc GST) per bottle (75cl) – 12 bottles available

89/91 Points Allen Meadows – ‘Outstanding’
“The perfumed and pretty essence of plum, earth and cassis introduces supple, round and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that also conclude in a mildly rustic and austere finale. This is really quite good for its level and a wine that should reward mid-term cellaring.”
