From a Vineyard Next to Richebourg and Romanee St Vivant - A Superb Vosne Romanee Suchots
Tucked between Richebourg, Romanée St vivant and Echezeaux, three of the great vineyards in the world, Vosne Romanee Les Suchots is a superbly situated 1er Cru. It’s long been a go-to for collectors in the know, so I am delighted to have some cases of the 2018 from one of its best producers to offer, Domaine Hudelot Noellat.
Not only is it excellent, but Hudelot–Noellat’s Suchots is also very rare. It comes from a plot that measures just 0.46ha, which translates to just 415 cases or so in a typical vintage. This means that few will have the opportunity to add a case or even two to their cellar.We have three cases available. Do take a look and let us know if you would like any.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru was more backward than the Les Beaumonts and demanded more coaxing to offer raspberry, wild strawberry, sous-bois, touches of morels and light sage aromas, gradually unfolding from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite strict and maybe a little rustic for a Les Suchots, but with fine grip and spiciness toward the finish. The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is showing brilliantly this year, wafting from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of cassis, blackberries, spices and dark chocolate. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, rich and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into a deep and layered core, concluding with a long and penetrating finish. (2020) www.robertparker.com
