We are delighted to offer a first look at the 2022 Burgundy vintage in the form of one of the jewels in the crown of Louis Jadot’s portfolio, the 2022 Chevalier Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru. From a revered spot in one of the world’s great white wine vineyards, this is a gem.

The Chevalier Demoiselles from Jadot is a magnificent wine. For Jasper Morris MW, it is “more or less a match” for its Montrachet”, such is the consistent quality that comes from this half-a-hectare of Grand Cru vines. It is from a great site within Chevalier Montrachet, where the southeast exposure gives a perfect balance of muscular power, fine-boned minerality and dazzling acidity.

We haven’t been able to taste this yet, but are confident that it will be magnificent. Charles Curtis MW gave his thoughts to Decanter in July and asserted, “The quality of the 2022 vintage is very good” and “it should generally provide the elegance of the 2017 vintage with more ripeness and fruit”. With regard to the whites, “The wines tend to be sunny, generous, round and lush” and the best terroirs, higher up the slopes like Chevalier, performed the best.
