We are thrilled to offer this bottle of liquid gold – 1976 Tomatin Warehouse 6 Collection! Filled on December 7th 1976, this whisky was later singled out by Tomatin‘s Master Distiller as special. Lying undisturbed in Warehouse 6 the exquisite spirit slowly matured in hand-selected Traditional Oak Hogsheads, developing natural, subtle fruit tones. Over four and a half decades of watchful waiting by the cask’s custodians has seen this exclusive expression instilled with great complexity yet it presents a tremendous youth and vibrancy which is a remarkable balance to achieve.
With patience comes reward. Forty-five years after it was distilled, Master Distiller, Graham Eunson has declared the 1976 “extraordinary”. Of all the amazing whiskies he has sampled in over 30 years in the industry, this one stands apart from them all. In perfect harmony, aromas of strawberry liqueur, tropical fruits and roasted coconut balance out with an exotic spicy character. Golden syrup and marzipan add to the complexity, developing into rich chocolate, coffee and brown sugar on the palate. The exotic spices appear once again with a long, refined, lingering finish.
Bottle is presented in a luxury case with unique opening mechanism. Inside, the podium base holds the hand-blown Glencairn Crystal decanter and glasses decorated with solid copper bands, a solid copper stopper and a numbered certificate detailing the story of the whisky.
