2004 Krug, Clos du Mesnil

We are delighted to offer a parcel of the magnificent 2004 Krug Clos du Mesnil. A 98+ point superstar from a very well-regarded Champagne vintage now complete with over two decades of maturity, this is a gem that would stand out in even the most well-stocked collection.

The Clos du Mesnil is one of Champagne’s icon wines. Made from a tiny walled Clos home to some of the region’s best Chardonnay vines, production is incredibly small, and there is never, ever enough to meet global demand. It’s a situation that makes parcels like this, from a top-drawer vintage, very exciting when we manage to find them.

Antonio Galloni tasted it in 2018, and then it was showing brilliantly. For him, it was “A soaring, majestic Champagne…dazzles from the very first taste with its crystalline purity and brightness” and “The vertical structure and pure, tightly-coiled power are the stuff dreams are made of”. He gives it 98+ points, hinting that it may well improve with more years in bottle.
