The 2018 Roulot Charmes
For Allen Meadows, the 2018 Domaine Roulot Meursault Charmes 1er Cru is “quite simply terrific and worth a special effort to find.” It comes from a small parcel of 70+ year old vines, meaning that finding it is not easy, so we are delighted to have two well-priced cases to offer.
The Charmes 1er Cru is noted for its well-rounded and very complete wines. Roulot’s 2018 is an excellent example. For Meadows, it is “There is exceptionally good richness to the super-sleek and seductively textured flavors that culminate in a compact, chiseled and refreshingly clean and dry finish.” It is clearly an exquisite Charmes that perfectly encapsulates the style of both the vineyard and this benchmark winemaker.
